“BLICKFANG – Germany’s best photographers” is a high-quality, large-format photo book from Norman Beckmann Verlag, which annually presents a curated selection of leading photographers from the commercial and artistic fields.

According to the publisher, a selection of potential photographers was made prior to the project and then informed about the book project – participation was therefore (for the first time since this edition) only possible by direct invitation. The selected participants then contributed towards printing costs; the book will be distributed, among other things, via 750 free copies to agencies, publishers, and art buyers in Germany.

As the key visual for a feature on the anniversary issue of a professional photography magazine, the publisher of Blickfang Verlag, Norman Beckmann, personally selected a photograph by Stefan Guido Schmidt (who at that time was still working under the pseudonym Guidos.). Furthermore, he was featured in the issue on a double-page spread with this photograph, which consequently became one of his most famous images.
